UGC questions

How much do UGC ads cost?

Short answer

A single raw UGC video costs about $100 to $200 on creator marketplaces (Collabstr's 2026 data puts the average creator payout at $154), but that price rarely includes the script, the edit, extra hooks or paid usage rights. Once you add those, a finished, ready-to-run UGC ad usually lands between $200 and $500. At She Converts, 20 scripted, edited UGC ad variations start at $3K one-time, about $150 per finished ad, delivered in 7 days. No retainer required.

The price per video is the wrong number

Here's how it usually goes. You find a creator for $99. Ten days later a clip lands in your inbox: 47 seconds, no captions, the hook is "Hey guys, so I've been using this…", and your media buyer can't run it as is. Now you need an editor, three more hooks, a usage-rights upgrade, and someone to write the script you should have sent in the first place.

None of that is hard. It's just one more thing on a list that never gets shorter. That's why the useful number isn't the price of a video. It's the price of an ad you can actually launch, and the price of enough of them to find one that works.

The add-ons that double the bill

The sticker price is the floor. These are the line items that get added once you need the video to run as a paid ad, from published rate guides:

  • Paid usage rights: +20 to 30% of the creator's fee for 3 months, up to +30 to 50% for 12 months. Perpetual rights run 100 to 150% of the base fee (inBeat, 2026).
  • Whitelisting or Spark Ads access: 20 to 30% of the base rate per month (inBeat).
  • Raw footage: about 40% extra (inBeat).
  • Extra hooks: $50 to $80 each (inBeat, Twirl).
  • Rush delivery: 25 to 50% extra (Influee).
  • Platform subscriptions and fees: $229 to $999 a month on Influee, $500 a month and up on Insense, plus 7 to 20% on top of creator pay (Influee, Insense).

Billo's own blog says licensing alone "can easily double or triple costs" (Billo, 2026). Read the rights terms before you buy: Insense's default license is 30 days when the brief doesn't set one (terms), and Backstage's default for paid ads is 6 months, after which the creator has to be paid again (Backstage help).

The costs that never show up on an invoice

Even after the add-ons, a marketplace video still needs four things nobody sells you:

  1. A direct-response script. Most marketplaces ask you to write the brief and the script, or offer an AI script tool. A freelance copywriter on Upwork costs $19 to $45 an hour, and an expert runs $50 to $150 (Upwork).
  2. An editor. Upwork's median for a mid-level video editor is $40 an hour, and $100 for senior (Upwork). Captions, cuts and hook versions are billed by the hour, for every ad.
  3. Your time. Writing briefs, picking from applicants, shipping product, chasing deliveries and reviewing drafts before an auto-approve window closes. The median US marketing specialist earns about $37.87 an hour (BLS), and that's before you count an owner's or agency lead's time.
  4. The wait. Billo's clock starts once the creator has your product, and each revision request adds 2 to 5 business days (Billo help). Meanwhile your current ads keep getting more expensive to run.

Why you need 20 ads, not one

Meta's own guidance is to keep "at least 20 diversified ads" in Advantage+ shopping campaigns, launch new ads weekly, and put 20 to 30% of your budget toward testing (Meta, 2024).

The reason is how Meta delivers ads now. Its Andromeda system picks from millions of ads for each person, and "when creative is too similar, our system may not recognize it as different" (Meta). Five ads with the same opening are, to the algorithm, close to one ad.

Most ads also don't win. Across 578,750 ads and $1.29B in Meta spend, only 4 to 8.8% of creatives became winners (Motion, 2026). Winners also wear out: Meta flags "creative fatigue" when an ad's cost per result climbs to twice what your past ads cost (Meta help).

Put those together and the math is simple. If roughly one ad in fifteen to twenty-five becomes a winner, you need about twenty real variations to find one, and another batch ready when it fatigues.

The real comparison: cost per finished, testable ad

Here's what one ready-to-run ad costs on each route, using the published prices above. These are estimates; your exact bill depends on the creator and the add-ons you pick.

She Converts Ad Variationsstarting at $3K for 20about $150Launching them, or let our paid media team run them

At about $150 per finished ad, She Converts sits at or below what a single raw creator video averages on Collabstr ($154 to $197), and the script, the editing and the hook variations are already done.

What you get with Ad Variations (starting at $3K)

  • 20 ad variations built from 5 hooks, 2 bodies and 2 CTAs
  • Every script written by our direct-response writer, so each hook is built to stop the scroll and each CTA is built to sell
  • Real creators on camera, directed by us
  • Editing included
  • Delivered in 7 days, ready to launch on Meta or TikTok

The 5 x 2 x 2 structure is the point. Each part is tested separately, so when one ad wins you know whether it was the hook, the body or the CTA, and the next batch builds on what worked instead of starting over. Five different hooks also means five openings Meta can actually tell apart.

Pick Ad Variations when you have an offer that works and need to find the hook that scales it. Pick Fully Produced when you need to test several different angles from scratch.

Do you need a retainer?

No. Creative is a one-time purchase. If you want us to run your ads too, we offer done-for-you ad management and 3-month packages, depending on what fits your business. We walk through the options on the call.

When a cheap marketplace video is enough

If you need one or two videos for organic posts, already have a writer and an editor, and have time to manage creators yourself, a $99 to $200 marketplace video is a fine buy. The math changes the moment the video has to run as a paid ad, be tested against others, and be replaced when it fatigues.

What results to expect

Results depend on your offer and your account, so here is the honest range from our clients. The fastest: click-through rate doubled, then tripled, within a week. The typical: their best cost per result and ROAS became the new baseline. The slow start: three to four weeks to find the winning format. We also run our own Meta ads with the same creators, scripts and process, and publish what our own account taught us. See the ads we've made.
